Origins
Kode21’s founders Ceren and Michiel have both worked in A-list design environments, but often with a lingering feeling that the design profession does not always achieve its full positive potential; and more often than not, creates new problems rather than solving them. We especially felt that the climate crisis and its solutions were not given the prominent role that they should have. After years of research, talks, detours and trials, Kode21 is the culmination of our learnings - putting regenerative climate solutions at the hearth of innovation and strategy.
Team
Ceren Bagatar is co-founder and creative director of Kode21. She has worked as a multidisciplinary designer and sustainability strategist with companies such as Philips and Continuum Innovation.
Michiel Cornelissen is founder and strategic director of Kode21. He has worked as designer and design manager with companies such as Philips, Bose and Ultimaker.
